Weapon Systems Engineering

We provide systems engineering and technical assistance to Government programs: requirements development and management, model-based systems engineering and digital thread, modeling and simulation, life cycle cost and sustainment analysis, test and evaluation solutions, and independent technical risk analysis. Our people integrate with Government teams and deliver objective, practitioner grade work.

Acquisition and Program Solutions

We support the full acquisition lifecycle, from requirement through closeout: acquisition strategy, market research, source selection and evaluation, cost and schedule analysis, and program management. We work across FAR based, Other Transaction, and Foreign Military Sales pathways.

Custom AI and Machine Learning

We design and build AI and machine learning applications and interfaces, drawing on the knowledge of the subject matter experts who perform the work. These are not off the shelf tools. Each one is built around the user, the data, and the authorities that govern the work. Our applications compose into the systems our customers already access, keep a person in control of every decision, and deliver the model, the data, and the audit trail to the Government with no vendor lock.

Collaborative Autonomy

We develop software and solutions that let people and autonomous systems work toward shared objectives. Our work keeps the operator in control while handling scale and speed that manual methods cannot match.

Process Automation and Optimization

We automate the manual and repetitive parts of engineering and acquisition work, and we improve the processes that remain. We build on AI-ready data with provenance and audit, so the output is faster, more consistent, and defensible. We measure success against the metrics the organization already uses.

How We Work

We do not arrive with a product to sell. We arrive to understand the problem. Our method is built to deliver software that fits the organization it serves.

Step 1: Assess the Environment

We begin by analyzing the existing tool stack: the applications, systems, and data already in use. We map what works, what does not, and where the gaps are.

Step 2: Understand the mission

We learn the processes, objectives, and constraints of the organization. We work with the people doing the job and document how requirements decisions actually get made.

Step 3: Vision and design

We work with stakeholders to define solutions and build a backlog of applications. Each application is unique to the user’s operating environment, role, responsibilities, and authorities.

Step 4: Integrate and measure

We build to fit existing standard operating procedures and the established tactics, techniques, and procedures. We measure success against the organization’s own key performance indicators and data metrics, and against the regulatory and statutory requirements that govern the program.

APEX TK serves major defense programs and weapon systems across the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. Our work spans garrison and deployed settings, from early-stage technology through sustainment of fielded systems, and across the engineering and programmatic domains.
